I have been engaged in photography on a casual basis for over thirty years. Like most photographers I like to seek out interesting subjects and to find beauty in my surroundings. I have travelled the world with my camera, visiting every continent, and am working to expand my photographic and post-processings skill set, while I build my portfolio.

Although temporarily based in the UK, I have spent most of my adult life in Hong Kong. I served for fifteen years as an Inspector in the Hong Kong Police Force under both British and Chinese rule. Most of that time was spent working as a Detective Inspector in the Criminal Investigation Department. I hold a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Police Studies and am now working on the disseration for my masters degree in Counter Fraud and Counter Corruption Studies, which I should complete in 2017. I am considering following this up with an MBA while I plan my own personal and permanent Brexit.

I have undertaken a number of adventurous activities in the course of my life. As a youngster I hiked several thousand miles around the coastline of Britain to raise money for charity, I have made over 240 skydives and have climbed the highest mountains on six of the seven continents. It was probably best to have got these things done by now, seeing how grey highlights are finding their way into my hairdo.

'Hong Kong Mark' is a nickname I picked up, while skydiving in Hawaii, in order to avoid confusion with other Marks at the drop zone. I have adopted this nickname for my online persona, as there are other (more accomplished) photographers who share my full name.
